NEET-UG 2024 SC Hearing: What Does the Final Verdict Say?

The CJI’s remarks on his final verdict on NEET-UG 2024 reads, “We have said that NTA must now avoid the flip flops which has happened now because it does not serve well. These issues such as the rear door being kept open in strong room etc, then granting compensatory marks, then grace marks which led to 44 getting 720/720. We have highlighted all errors of NTA and thus committee should identify and rectify these. These issues which have arisen must be rectified by the Union of India this year itself so that it is not repeated.”

NEET-UG 2024 SC Hearing: What Was The IIT Madras Analysis On Paper Leak?

The government said that IIT Madras conducted an exhaustive technical evaluation of data related to the NEET-UG 2024 exam and the analysis shows “no indication of mass malpractice”. The government also added that the data analysis shows that no local candidates benefitted leading to abnormal scores.The government assured that while it is committed to preventing any malpractice benefits, it does not believe 23 lakh students should face a re-test based on unsubstantiated concerns.

NEET-UG 2024 Supreme Court Hearing: Committee to Submit Report by September 30

The government-appointed committee’s findings will be submitted to the Centre by September 30. The Ministry of Education shall submit the committee’s compliance and decision to implement within two weeks, according to LiveLaw.
The committee shall suggest a comprehensive grievance redressal process,  data protection measures to preserve all sensitive information and defend against leaks. The committee shall also record electronic fingerprints, cybersecurity, and vulnerabilities

In an official statement, the CBI revealed that on the morning of May 5, the NEET-UG 2024 question paper was illicitly accessed from Oasis School in Hazaribagh by Pankaj Kumar, also known as Aditya or Sahil, one of the masterminds behind the scheme. The theft was orchestrated in collaboration with the Hazaribagh NTA City Coordinator and Principal of Oasis School, along with the Centre Superintendent and Vice Principal of the school.

NEET-UG 2024 Supreme Court Hearing: CJI Questioned CBI on Exact Time of Paper Leak

The CJI questioned the CBI about the specific timing and scope of the question paper leak. According to CBI, the accused entered the control room through the rear entrance and collected the question papers. The centre superintendent purposefully kept it open. Following this, the accused quickly forwarded it to the problem solvers. So far, the CBI inquiry has identified four locations where question papers were distributed: two in Patna and two in Hazaribagh, reported the central agency.
